There and Back Again

The Family Copoli happened.
We did it. We all did it. You did it.
New shows at the fringe average around 5 people in the audience. We had over 50, every day, often filling up the house. People left dozens of glowing reviews, which you can see here. Over 23 shows, we performed for over 1200 people.
Publications came as well – from BingeFringe, SMU Reviews, and Fernyhough Arts we received 5 star reviews, and more.
From when this was a distant twinkle in Liv’s eye a year ago, to organizing a team, watching it grow, editing the script, music rearrangements, raising funds, props, costumes, making a collapsible set and getting it to Edinburgh, everything built up to this. And we could not be happier with how it turned out.
This was truly a life changing experience, touching so many people. Everyone on this team brought their all to the table – as multi-disciplinary artists and producers wearing, enough hats that at some point you have to stop counting. We were brought together through a true love for this work, and this project will live on as a testament to the power of passion and community.
We’d like to give some special thanks, to those people and organizations who made this journey possible.
- Andy Colpitts (playwright) and Michael Wookey (composer) for trusting us with their work and being so supportive in letting us show it to the world beyond
- The Schwartz Center, especially Fritz Bernstein, Andrew Deppen, Chris Riley, Beatrice Fenyes-Gartenberg, and Michael Garrett for their unwavering support
- Christopher Eaton and The Soil Factory, for hosting our staged reading and our first performance
- Backyard Flea and Tres Leches, for supporting us locally
- The Backroom in NYC, for hosting our final “Last Night on Earth”
- Banana Row, for being great to work with
- Chris Christensen and his “FLX Flow” podcast, for his constant encouragement and support (Part One, Part Two – also on Apple podcasts and other podcast services)
- All of you. For your support. For reading this newsletter, and caring enough to stay up to date. For helping us raise funds. For spreading the word. For showing us that people care, that this is a project worth doing. This truly could not have happened without you.
